Pennsylvania bluestone is a dense, strong, fine-grained sandstone quarried in the northeastern United States, mostly in Pennsylvania and upstate New York. It is an excellent material for decks and patios as it resists cracking and won’t discolor. It easily can be separated into slabs of varying sizes, making it suitable for other architectural details such as steps, walls, building facades, interior floors, and fireplaces. Bluestone has a distinctive hard-yet-soft quality that makes it very appealing. It's not soft enough to bask and in the sun yes it’s smooth enough to walk and sit on - making Pennsylvania Bluestone a beautiful, comfortable and safe environment year-round.
Tennessee Crab Orchard
Tennessee Crab Orchard is a form of Sandstone that can only be found and quarried at the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. It is acknowledged for being a very hard stone, and high concentrations of silica made in the stone make it resistant to harsh weather conditions. Its color pattern is excessively marbled and includes rust, tan, orange, pink, brown, blue and grey. It can be used for patios, walkways, stepping stones, wall caps, and fireplace hearths.
